Abstract

Abstract Kinetic conformities of high-temperature oxidation of volatile polymer degradation products for some general classes of polymers and polymeric materials are investigated. For the polymethylmetacrylate, isoprene, divinyl and ethylene–propylene rubbers oxidation kinetic is investigated in the dependence of pyrolysis temperature and in correlation with the structure of degradation products. The change of activation energy of the oxidation process is shown depending on the temperature of polymer pyrolysis. For the polymethylmetacrylate, correlation between ignition delay time and rate constant of oxidation is proved. For the polycarbonate-based compositions influence of general types of fire retardant additives, including bromine-and phosphorus-containing products, on the oxidation activation energy is investigated.
