Abstract

In the present work, oxidation behavior of NiCrAl alloys with La additive and La and Y additives have been investigated at 900, 1000, and 1100°C. Oxidation kinetics has been studied using thermogravimetric analysis. The phase constitutions of the surface were determined by X-ray diffraction. Scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy has been used to observe the microstructural evolution and compositions. Mechanism for the effect of multi rare-earth additives to NiCrAl alloys has been proposed.
