Abstract

The Miami University collection of music literature and scores is housed in the main library and classified in the fine arts section of the Dewey classification. It includes 1413 titles in music literature, criticism and biography, 50 full scores, 620 other scores. The materials are used mainly by students in public school music and fine arts. Since these departments are comparatively new, the library has few rare items. However, there is a good selection of recent biographies, criticism, books on the symphony, opera and music appreciation.
