Abstract

Urban wildscape refers to landscape units within or surrounding urban areas that are primarily shaped by natural processes exhibiting high ecological value and diversity. Due to urbanization urban wildscapes are at risk of disappearing or degrading but they also present opportunities for the protection and restoration of urban ecosystems. The purpose of this article is to systematically review and analyze the concepts classifications values threats and conservation strategies of urban wildscapes in order to provide references for urban planning and wildscape design.
