Abstract

As a specification proposed in a far-away year of 1998 in a response to critical outage of available IP address space, one would assume that IPv6 protocol is adopted a long time ago, and one would be very much wrong. Where does the world and European Union countries stand with IPv6 enabled traffic, and Croatia in respect to them? This paper will provide an outline of current IPv6 adoption progress status worldwide, in EU countries with a focus on Croatia, based on information available from online resources. An overview of available online sources and metrics for measuring IPv6 deployment is gives as well.
