Overview of SAR Image Feature Extraction and Target Recognition

Abstract

Currently, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image target recognition is one of the research focus and hot spot all over the world. This paper briefly introduces the process of SAR image target recognition and summarizes the methods of SAR image feature extraction from four aspects: optical or visual characteristics, statistical analysis or mathematical transformation, scattering mechanism and depth learning, and then simulates the typical methods. Finally, the problems of SAR image feature extraction and target recognition technology are analyzed, and the future development direction is prospected.
