Abstract

There is increasing recognition of the importance of addressing both medical care practices and interventions, as well as nonmedical factors and interventions for the mother–infant dyad in neonatal intensive care. This update addresses the evidence for medical and nonmedical practices affecting the outcomes of infants born preterm who require intensive care.
