insurance and reinsurance industry. . In Nepal, the agriculture insurance penetration is the least among Asian countries is only 1.10%. This shows that the adoption of agricultural insurance along with livestock insurance is low. Despite livestock insurance being effective risk management, several factors play a crucial role in insurance adoption which are still overlooked. It is found that the total dairy animal, farmers' membership, extension agent contact and knowledge of subsidy-premium schemes are inevitable factors affecting livestock insurance adoption . In addition to it, cattle breed type, loan access, income from livestock, and the number of cattle reared were major factors affecting livestock insurance adoption in Nepal. Thus, identifying & understanding the factors that influence farmers' decision to adopt livestock insurance as a risk management strategy is inevitable to upscale its adoption .
