Abstract

In this paper, a brief overview of current state-of-the-art of hydrogen refueling stations (HRSs) worldwide is presented, with emphasis on their most common configurations and capacities. Then a preliminary analysis of HRS building possibilities within one existing wind farm in Croatia and its spatial occupancy has been done, as an example and guideline for a further and more detailed techno-economic assessment of HRS feasibility. In order to align with the main goals of today's global energy policy, i.e. decarbonization of worldwide transport, only the production of hydrogen by electrolysis of water using electrical energy from renewable energy sources has been considered within the proposed analysis.
