Abstract

This book is a collection of up-to-date practice and research using big data in the field of urban and regional planning and smart city. It aims to draw a picture of the current research status of big data application in urban China; most of the works focus on spatiotemporal analysis of human mobility and transportation for understanding relevant urban structure after the rapid urbanization process in China. The case studies in this book will explain how big data changes the perception of planners and researchers in urban planning practice. It is the first book to introduce big data-based research for planning practices in China.
