Abstract

The overlapped particle tracks seriously affects the measurement accuracy of the particle track. In order to separate the overlapped particle track, a twice erosion operation was proposed by combining image matching. First, by the area and circularity of particle track as shape feature, no overlapping particle tracks were detected and classified. Then, by using these identified particle tracks as template to form the structural elements, the overlapping particle track image was separated by twice erosion operation. Finally, the classification image are gotten by each particle track's shape. Experimental results show that particle track image can effectively segmented by combined with shape matching and twice erosion operation. And it eliminates the influence of track overlapping to image measurement accuracy.
