Abstract

Obsolescence in existing overcurrent protection devices in industrial plants is due to the possibility of higher available MVA, lower percent impedance transformers, and omission of future growth potential in present designs. Preventative design measures and solution of the present problem with simple retrofits are described. Some important articles of the National Electrical Code are addressed.
