Abstract

Dr. Hansen is a college MIS professor who experienced student classroom misbehaviours while teaching a senior-level mobile app development course with a focus placed upon technical skills for developing mobile apps and games. While looking for solutions to discourage those student classroom misbehaviours, Dr. Hansen had a conversation with one of his friends, Dr. Choudary who is a professor teaching organisational behaviour at another university. After the conversation, Dr. Hansen learned from Dr. Choudary that human behaviours are goal-oriented, which may be used to explain those student classroom misbehaviours. Dr. Hansen wondered how he can apply motivation theories to discourage student classroom misbehaviours and motivate students to learn technical skills for developing mobile apps.
