Abstract
AbstractA new technique to improve analog optical‐transmission performance using an optical single‐sideband (SSB) system with cascaded semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) has been proposed. Our 92‐km transmission experiment shows that this technique does not show any chromatic‐dispersion effects and also gives larger RF gain compared to the conventional SSB modulated signal. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
