Abstract
ABSTRACTThis study explored the extent of information and persuasive methods in over-the-counter drug advertisements in Sweden. A content analysis of 267 ads revealed that over-the-counter advertising is less informative than ethical advertising and that over-the-counter advertising is less persuasive than consumer advertising in general. The results indicate significant relationships between product age and informative content.
