Abstract

We propose an over compensation (OC) algorithm for laser beam shaping using deformable mirrors. In this algorithm, we model the beam shaping problem using a sequence of standard Monge-Ampère (MA) equations and iteratively applies over compensation to the deviated focal-plane irradiance distributions. Simulations show that this algorithm can get its minimum relative root mean square deviations (RRMSDs) using only a few iterations and actuator perturbations.
