Abstract
Populations of Colorado Potato Beetle (CPB) have been collected in seven Italian locations. The number of ovarioles per ovary amounted to an average of 32.72±3.71, with a range of 21 to 41. These figures are consistant with the reports for CPB from North Eastern North America. The populations studied did not differ significantly among themselves suggesting that the character “ovariole number” is not sufficient to discriminate among CPB populations collected in different Italian areas.
