Abstract

Ovarian transposition is a procedure performed to save fertility during radiotherapy. Despite the fact that the ovaries are lifted from the pelvis and fixed, cases of ovarian torsion are observed. Ovarian torsion is a condition that occurs when an ovary twists around the ligaments and cuts off blood flow to the ovary and fallopian tube. It presents as acute severe abdominal pain. Early diagnosis and treatment are necessary to avoid serious complications such as ovarian necrosis. There is no gold standard for the diagnosis of ovarian torsion and diagnostic of patients whose ovaries are already fixed is even more complicated.
