Abstract

Ovarian steroids are primary regulators of the growth and maintenance of established endometriotic implants; however, little is known about their role in the development of the early endometriotic lesion, and specifically implants on the ovarian stroma and the development of endometriomas. Here, we assessed the effect of estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) on endometrial epithelial (EEC) and endometrial stromal cell (ESC) attachment and invasion to normal ovarian surface epithelium (NOSE) cells.
