Abstract
Ovarian remnant syndrome is characterized by the presence of functional ovarian tissue after ovariohysterectomy (OH). In this report, the case of a 2-year-old female cat who started to show estrus behaviors 10 months after OH, correlated with the absence of the tutor. The exams of choice to reach a first diagnosis were vaginal cytology and abdominal ultrasound. The designated treatment, was excision of the ovarian tissue fragment thought exploratory laparotomy. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis.
