Abstract

Seasonally anestrous sows were identified on day 7 after weaning and treated either with equine and human chorionic gonad-otropins or saline (control). Gonadotropin treatment stimulated ovarian follicular development, and more treated sows than controls expressed estrus, were inseminated, ovulated, and became pregnant within 1 week after treatment.
