Abstract

Background: Ovarian cysts are a common finding in adolescent females. The proper course of action after detection of an ovarian cyst among this age group is somewhat undefined, particularly in regard to size and complexity of the cyst. In this study we wanted to look at the rate of spontaneous resolution of ovarian cysts among adolescents and provide insight into the characteristics that might suggest spontaneous resolution versus the need for interventional treatment.
