Abstract

Faculty members need not be limited to existing, formal faculty internship opportunities. This paper describes a number of internships created by faculty members to serve their own needs for professional growth and development. Other possibilities for internships may lie outside the hospitality industry. Faculty members should be flexible and creative in developing internships. Administrators may need to be supportive of unusual internship opportunities developed by their faculty, as well as flexible in their scheduling to accommodate such opportunities.
