Abstract

This work considers non-linear differential algebraic equation (DAE) systems whose state space depends on the manipulated inputs. An ODE representation of such systems cannot be derived independently of the controller design. An output feedback compensator is derived, which results in a modified DAE system whose state space does not depend on the new inputs and can be used for output feedback controller synthesis. Its application is illustrated in the context of control of a high-purity distillation column.
