Abstract

In Chapters 2 and 3, we developed adaptive state feedback control schemes for linear time-invariant plants with actuator failures characterized by some inputs being stuck at some values not influenced by control action, to achieve state tracking (Chapter 2) or output tracking (Chapter 3). The goal of this chapter is to develop an adaptive output feedback control scheme for systems with unknown parameters and unknown failures, to achieve output tracking. Some key issues such as controller structure, plant-model matching conditions, error model, adaptive law, stability analysis, and performance evaluation are addressed for output feedback based actuator failure compensation.
