Abstract
In Ethiopia, there has been a general misunderstanding about the water resource potential of the country, irrigation practice, the role of ground water in every aspect in the country especially in irrigation have been lacking. The general objective of this review paper was to receive some information about, the water resource potential and irrigation agriculture practice in Ethiopia from different literatures to provide useful information for decision makers for the planning and management of the water positional of the country for different use.
