Abstract

In his article ‘Now and then: Nursing’s unwanted child’ in the May issue(PN 19, 4,12), Jeremy Jolley provides an interesting overview of children’s nursing’s fight for recognition. However, strongly disagree with his suggestion that nurses wanting to care for sick children should already have proved themselves as general (adult) nurses.
