Abstract

The clinical outcomes of placing a vascular-cuffed catheter affect the morbidity and homeostasis of chronic renal insufficiency patients. We followed the outcomes of patients using cuffed catheters placed by Interventional Radiology for dialysis use. Outcome criteria for catheters placed included hospitalization days, infections, replacement of catheters, patency use, and achieved physician ordered flow rates. The conclusion we show will hopefully influence various radiology professionals from the basic care to advanced care practitioner. We as health care professionals can increase the positive outcome and decrease return visits of patients with catheter dependent medical care.
