Abstract

Background: Women aged ≥70 with breast cancer have a very low uptake of post-mastectomy breast reconstruction or therapeutic mammoplasty (complex oncoplastic surgery, COS) and are less likely to be offered both. This study aimed to compare the baseline characteristics, quality of life (QoL) outcomes and adverse events of women ≥70 undergoing COS to those having standard surgery (SS, breast conservation/mastectomy) in a large, multicentre, UK cohort study.
