Abstract

Due to patient noncompliance, we instituted a novel schedule for tandem and ovoids (T&O) insertion and HDR brachytherapy treatment of cervical cancer in 2004. This consisted of delivery of two fractions in two consecutive days, with an intervening inpatient hospital stay. The procedure is repeated 1-2 weeks later. This schedule reduces the number of visits when administering HDR. We now report outcomes of our experience with this dose-fractionation scheme.
