Abstract

Rationale: Opiates have a role as a part of multimodal therapy for management of non-cancerous pain in carefully selected patients. Previous studies in intestinal failure (IF) showed that over one third of home parenteral nutrition (HPN) patients were using opioids on a regular basis. This study aim to evaluate the prevalence of opioids use in an HPN population and the outcomes associated with its use.
