Abstract

Abstract In response to the current need for outcomes assessment in collegiate business programs, two instruments have recently been developed. The Core Curriculum Assessment Program (CCAP) instrument was developed by the American College Testing Program (ACT) in 1987, and the Business Test was developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in 1989. This article (a) describes both instruments, (b) compares the two in terms of content, types of scores available, reliability, availability of national comparative data, and cost, and (c) describes one institution's field experience with each instrument. The author's assessment is that the Business Test has definite advantages over the CCAP instrument, particularly in terms of logistics and cost.
