Abstract

valgus patients than in the control. The shank–calcaneus rotation on coronal plane revealed the absence of inversion during terminal stance with respect to the control. Discussion The gait analysis protocol used allowed identification of specific measures for functional evaluation of hallux valgus in dynamic conditions. Four angles revealed clinically relevant observations and in agreement with the traditional radiographic assessment. Inconsistency was found for the hallux–metatarso–phalangeal angle, likely associated to the artefactual calculation of projections angles when these are large, which is now under analysis to be compensate.
