Abstract

In this paper, hybrid scheme is formed by adapting the combination of Overlay and Underlay Spectrum allocation scheme for maximizing the outage capacity for the cognitive radio network (CRN). This novel scheme is introduced using soft sensing information about the state of primary user (PU) being in the off state or in the on state subject to joint peak transmit and average received power constraint in the Rayleigh fading channel. This novel technique has been proposed where a system is flexible enough to work in a hybrid mode. Lagrangian optimization problem has been emphasized for obtaining the solution subject to peak transmit and average received power constraints. Moreover, the results shows proposed hybrid scheme performs significantly better.
