Abstract

ABSTRACT Oudlājān, the historical urban core of Tehran, has exquisite houses, mostly from the Qajar era. It is suffering from neglect. Precious buildings have collapsed, together with their tangible and intangible heritage. Despite decades of interest in this neighbourhood, there is no complete and methodical inventory and documentation of all the individual properties. The Oudlājān Documentation Project (ODP) is a voluntary effort, to create a data archive for possible future preservation, rehabilitation, conservation, and restoration projects for this built heritage.
