Abstract

Background: Surgical resection for liver metastases of colorectal cancer is an established procedures. However, the indication of surgical resections in patients with both liver and lung metastases is not well established. We aimed to analyze the outcomes of patients with liver and lung metastases of colorectal cancer compared with liver metastases alone. 【Material and Methods】Data retrospectively collected from 719 patients who underwent hepatic metastasectomy(liver metastases group) and 117 patients who underwent hepatic and pulmonary metastasectomy(liver and lung metastases group) after colorectal cancer surgery from January 1991 through December 2016 were analyzed. Survival analysis was performed with the date of the first hepatic metasectomy as the starting point. All patients in this study had achieved cancer-free status after resection of the metastases site.
