Abstract

Some users of telecommunications networks, army forces for example, have requirements which differ from the requirements for public telecommunications networks (PTNs). The difference between PTNs and special requirements networks is analyzed and, for the time being, PTNs cannot fulfill these special requirements. One of the most important of them is resistance of which basic components are network security, reliability and mobility. Networks with greater resistance form a subclass named the resisting functional telecommunications networks for which design and system architectures are proposed in the paper.
