Abstract

Elements affecting project coordination have been identified and evaluated based on their criticality and the increase in coordination effort due to these elements. Literature on traits of project manager is reviewed and distinction between the role of project manager and project coordinator is made. There are very few studies which lay down the required traits of a project coordinator. Common traits identified from literature are evaluated based on their relative importance for a project coordinator through the analysis of questionnaire responses. The important traits have converged into three major skill categories: team building skill, contract implementation skill, and project organization skill.
