Abstract

The present study was focused on some obtained Ostracods from subsurface samples from the N2 borehole in Al-Najaf area, Southwestern Iraq. Nine species belonging to eight genera were collected, in which three new species were recorded and described for the firs time, represented by Alocopocythere iraqaensis sp.nov., Loxoconcha dammamensis sp.nov. and Xestolebris eocaenica sp.nov. In the bio-morphological terms of similarity, the obtained Ostracods have more resembility to Ostracods described from the Indian sub-continent, Saudia Arabia and the Caribbean basin rather than what have been described from Africa and Europe. Hence, from this fact indicated that there was some kind of environmental connections between theis bioprovences.
