Abstract

From 1897 to the present, skeletal remains of the macaw and thick-billed parrot have been turning up occasionally in archaeological sites in Arizona and New Mexico. Heretofore no illustrated osteo-logical study of these birds has been prepared for use by the archaeologist in the field and laboratory. This report is intended to assist the archaeologist in identifying parrot bones from among those of other animals.
