Treatment options used for similar conditions in the knee have included activity restriction, arthroscopic debridement, and curettage and drilling of the lesion. Most of these techniques have yielded disappointing clinical results. Because several investigators23 3, s have successfully used osteochondral allografts for treatment of OCD of the femoral condyle in the knee, we applied a similar technique to a patient with a large OCD defect of the humeral head.
