Abstract

The osmotic fragility of erythrocytes was measured by a continuous recording method (fragilograph). The results were compared with values simultaneously obtained by the standard (multiple tube) method. The values of mean osmotic fragility obtained by the two methods correlate well in specimens of blood with normal distribution of cells. To compare the results, however, the different characteristics of the two systems should be considered.
