Abstract

We construct closed orbits for a singular perturbation problem near a nondegenerate equilibrium point of its reduced system, in case the linearization of the fast part of the flow has a complex conjugate pair of pure imaginary eigenvalues. The mechanism for constructing the closed orbits is essentially different from the mechanism of a Hopf bifurcation.
