Abstract
Band oscillator strengths for the transitions a 1Π g ← X 1Σ + g , w 1Δ u ← X 1Σ + g , and C 3Π u ← X 1 Σ + g of N 2 were measured from the absorption spectrum in the 1050–1450 Å region. The spectrum was observed photoelectrically at pressures up to 40 atm using the argon continuum as a background light source. The f-value for the electronic transition a ← X is 3·1 x 10 -5.
