Abstract

The antisymmetrized geminal power wave function (AGP) used together with excited states generated by operators satisfying the vacuum condition leads to simple forms for the transition moments. The variation and possible vanishing of the transition moments can be expressed exclusively in terms of the geminal expansion coefficients.
