Abstract

Abstract We consider the combined effect of the resonant spin-flavor precession (RSFP) and resonant oscillations of neutrinos in the convective zone of the sun. It is shown that although the oscillations cannot give rise to the apparent time variations of the solar neutrino flux in the 37Cl experiment, they can efficiently assist the RSFP to do so. As a result, smaller values of the neutrino transition magnetic moments are required, which are compatible with the recently derived astrophysical upper bound. We also remark on new experimental results on solar neutrinos.
