Abstract

We study the oscillatory behavior of a class of fourth-order differential equations and establish sufficient conditions for oscillation of a fourth-order differential equation with middle term. Our theorems extend and complement a number of related results reported in the literature. One example is provided to illustrate the main results.

Introduction

We are concerned with the oscillation and the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the following two fourth-order differential equations. There has been much activity concerning oscillatory and asymptotic behavior of various classes of differential and difference equations (see, e.g., [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34], and the references cited therein).
