Abstract
It is an important subject to clarify the mechanism of welding crack formation to eliminate that in weld in structures. There are many studies in metallurgical fields about hot cracking. But it requires consideration of mechanical factors as well as metallurgical factors to control hot cracking, because mechanical factors such as heat input and constraint influence hot cracking freguently. In this study, mechanical models are suggested to control hot cracking and the results calculated by proposed method are compared with those by finite element method. This model is also applied to pipe joints and the applicability of the proposed method is performed.
