Abstract

In 1942, the writer, editor and bookseller Henrique Perdigao founded the distinguished Livraria Latina Editora. It stands out for its cultural action, the institution of literary prizes and editorial activity. This article lists the published authors, the title of the works, the name of the translators and directors, as well as the year of publication of the published works. The first 50 published works are divided into 8 different categories, namely: novel; short story; poetry; technical book; textbook; cultural collection Cadernos Azuis; children's collection Pinocchio; and Notable Authors collection. The contribution of Livraria Latina Editora and Henrique Perdigao to culture are recorded in this article, which only intends to collaborate in a more extensive study of related themes. This article also includes: Henrique Perdigao's biography; a summary of the publishing activity (accompanied by the publishing itinerary); and the categorization of the first 50 published works.
