Abstract

Differential equations for unsymmetrical loading of simply supported orthotropic circular cylindrical shell are obtained in terms of displacement components. Then displacement components are expressed in the form of double trigonometric Fourier series that satisfies the boundary conditions at the end. Uniformly distributed load on rectangular areas is considered, which is again expressed in terms of double trigonometric Fourier series. Expressions are obtained for displacement components, stress-resultants and stress-couples. Numerical results are obtained and plotted for a particular case.
